We've moved

If you've been checking this blog and wondering why I stopped blogging, visit www.adoptingbabyeye.blogspot.com. My dear friend, Sara, helped me create a new and improved blog. It was easier than "fixing" this one, so we've moved our blog to this new address. The new blog shares all about our adoptiong journey, our parenting stories, and just other stuff that we like to blog about.

To the doctor we will go...

We headed to Dr. D's office this week. Both boys have ear infections. Parker has a fever and is really sick. She put them both on antibiotics, Parker on Robitussum DM for couch and Preston started Claritin daily. We have a medicine schedule on the fridge to keep it all straight.

Jeremiah took care of the boys this weekend so I could go with my sweet friend, Sara, to the DeeperStill Conference in Atlanta. We had some much needed adult/spiritual time. We stayed in a hotel and we were both sure that we'd sleep like rocks since we stayed up late and didn't have the kids, but both of us had a long night of not much sleep. I told Sara that we probably didn't sleep well because Preston and her daughter Audrey didn't sneek into our beds to snuggle so we probably missed their little warm bodies. Our hotel was so nice. We even had Starbucks coffee in our room in the morning. Sara is much more "together" than I am and took pictures while we were there. I was just happy to get away so I didn't bring my camera. Thanks to her husband Jeff for getting us VIP parking and suite tickets! There were 19,000 women at Phillips Arena for the event.

I thought we'd head to the library in Braselton this morning so that the boys could cash in on all their prizes that they've been earning for reading books. However, I woke up with a 101.4 temp this morning so I decided that we'd stay home. We all need to get better before we leave for St. Louis on Thursday.

I love summer!

Someone forgot to tell my two lovely sons that it is now officially summer and we don't all need to be up demanding breakfast by 6:15 am each morning! Preston and Parker are still on their "school-time" schedules. I was hoping to sleep in, but we get up and get busy. I'm so blessed to have two healthy boys that love to eat!

Today we picked up the Nemecek's, Becky, Elizabeth and Joey, and headed to Suwanee Town Park to play in the fountains. We made record time from Hoschton - to - Suwanee. Just kidding. We had to stop at Wal-mart to fill up the gas tank - ouch- and to pick up pictures and get Jeremiah various trial drugs for his aweful summer allergies or sinus thing he has going on. So, we thought we were on our way and before we left the parking lot Preston is saying "mommy, I really need to go potty!" "Can you hold it for 5 minutes, Preston. " "Yes, mommy". Pulling onto 85 South 30 seconds later, "Mommy, I really need to go potty right now!" Suwanee Rest Stop here we come. "Does anyone else need to go?" With 4 kids in the car you think one of them would fess up. Back on to 85 south.

We finally arrived at the park and the kids had a blast playing in the water. We had a picnic lunch and the kids watched Shrek3 on the way home.

Graduation

Preston's last day of preschool was today. He has a graduation ceremony and music program tomorrow night. He is so thrilled to go to Pre-K at the new Gum Springs and we are thrilled that he will be in Mrs. Lyle's class!

We went to Disney for Mother's Day and to visit Nana. On Saturday we had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe, Sunday we went to Magic Kingdom and Monday to Cocoa Beach. It was back to work/school/daycare today.

Our dog, Sigma, was seriously sick when we were out of town and thanks to several friends working together Sigma was treated at the Animal Hospital and made it home before we did.

Rainy Day

It's a gray rainy day. I get up early on Saturdays and head to the gym while Jeremiah and the boys sleep in. I love the growth that is happening all around us. The Publix grocery store is almost finished, the gym is just around the corner from our neighborhood, and CVS is building at the corner. I will no longer have to spend two hours just to get groceries. I was spoiled living off of Gravel Springs Road in Dacula. We were 5 minutes from everything.

Many of you are probably wondering how things are going with our adoption. We are finishing up our application and plan to submit it in June. We are getting our Passport photos today. We won't travel for a long time, but our agency said that we need to go ahead and get our Passports so that we won't be held up for travel waiting on them to arrive. We are mailing out our reference letters today and we'll add those to our application packet once we receive them back from friends and family. We haven't decided on her name yet, but we will share that information sometime down the road.

April 4 - back to blogging

OUR COMPUTER CRASHED! I haven't been able to blog for so long. I'm home today with Parker. He is running a fever and is pretty miserable. Nothing is soothing him, except the pleasure he finds in feeding the dog his snacks. So, for today I'll let him do it since it's the only moment he stops crying.
We have been ever so busy. Preston absolutely loves going to school at Blackshear Baptist in Flowery Branch. His teachers, Ms. Susan and Ms. Melissa, made him breakfast today and he got to wear his PJ's to school. He goes to work with me three days a week, until he gets picked up for preschool. When we were walking in together the other morning he asked, "Mommy, when am I going to be in your class?" It was so sweet.
Parker is non-stop ball of energy. He climbs, jumps off of everything, gets stuck in things, loves to through trash away, cries for his daddy and his favorite food is yogurt. That's Parker in a nutshell. His morning routine is to wake up and run to the fridge for a yogurt. He gets a spoon out and then goes to the table. Just as soon as he finishes he yells out "shoes" and he is standing at the door ready to go to Ms. Crystals. I'm sure he is confused about why I didn't take him there today. He kept going to the door with his shoes and jacket. I know he misses her when he is sick and on the weekends. We are so blessed to have her to care for the boys while we work.
I have to run because Parker has managed to get himself stuck - this time in the wagon.
Until next time,
Tracy

A day off!

We spent the day playing and not doing much since there is no school. Katelyn came over to play with Preston and enjoyed calling him "dear" which drove him crazy. He is easily annoyed by girls, but still loves to play with her despite her loving nature.
Parker has been walking around the house saying, "hello, Elmo". He has a very large Elmo and a small one that he totes everywhere with him. He is also fascinated with shoes. I don't know where he gets it from.
We got news from Chris and Carrie and they are "Officially Jacob's parents. All went well in court and they should be heading to the baby house tonight "our time" to get Jacob. I think that it when it is around 10pm in Atlanta it will be Tuesday morning in Russia. Continue to keep them in your prayers as they travel.

Internet Problems

I finally got an internet connection at our house. Our DSL line isn't working AGAIN but I can pick up wireless if I sit right by the front windows with the laptop. We are so excited for our friends, Chris and Carrie. They are in Russia to adopt their son Jacob! According to their blog they will be able to get him on Monday. They have a lot of traveling to do so keep them in your prayers. I know they can't wait to hold him in their arms.
We started our adoption paperwork over the Christmas break. A few weeks ago we went to our "First Fridays" get together with other friends who have already adopted, some who are returning for second and third daughters and some who are just starting out like us. For those of you who we have not had the joy of sharing with, we are adopting a daughter from China. It's a very long wait due to the fact that China has opened up adoption domestically. Another hold up is that I'm only 29 years old and we they won't accept our application until I'm 29.5! We think that once our application is logged in this summer, the dossiear will take about 5 months and then we will have our "match" about 32 months after that. We are in no rush and we are looking forward to learning more about the whole process.
The boys are doing great. Preston just had his 4 year old well child visit. He needed 5 shots (ouch). I took Parker outside to see the snowflakes while Jeremiah had the honor of holding him. I could hear him screaming from the parking lot! We immediately drove the child to McDonald's! We felt so sorry for him. He didn't want to go inside because he didn't want to make the babies cry. His arms are still hurting him 3 days later. He didn't pass his hearing test, but we expected that since he is once again having ear infections. His tubes are no longer in his ears so we will have his hearing testing again later.
Parker is so much fun and so mischevious. He is climbing on everything. He likes to say "daddy, Elmo, and bro " (for brother). His favorite food is currently yogurt and we can't keep him out of the fridge. He stands at the fridge crying for yogurt. He is starting to get some little curls in the back of his hair. Ms. Crystal even taught him how to play Ring Around the Rosie and it keeps him entertained for a while.
Gotta run. Amy, Matt and the kids are coming over to play with the boys so we can go to the movies.
Love,
Tracy
